Why persona computer would make you learn faster? Well… i’ll pass on all those images, animations, movies, sounds, tables & i’ll even pass on speaking a lot about the fact that in internet you can actually find everything you would need to learn something. Will get straight to the… keyboard!
So what’s so special about keyboard? If you’re using a pc on a daily basis you probably write pretty fast or at least faster than with pen. How this affects learning speed? This is quite simple and you may know the answer by now – it’s because of the material’s amounts you can write in a shorter time. Keeping it simple… written word gets a bigger meaning in our mind and our muscles also support memorization proccess. I came up with this post after speaking with my gf. At the moment she’s learning polish and i would simply write down for her some most important stuff, but i don’t do because she needs to. Whenever you want to learn something but you write it down before with your own hand it will also have some ‘movement’ assosciated with it – you may not be conscious of it but it doesnt change that fact. When you come to it and go on it’s quite logical the faster and the more you can type in shorter time the faster you can learn. Another things are all the media you’re free to use (the stuff that ‘in the end i haven’t passed on beginning’).
You can add some crazy sounds, draw a map, add colors and make your note more interesting for mind to remember. Whenever I see a 10 A4 pages filled with same color pen, line after line i say… fuuu..nnny, how the hell i should remember that? It’s that important things like key words or key concepts should be marked up. If you make your notes more colorful and “alive”, add some drawing you will learn faster and remember easier. It’s because in response to loads of material in same form and color and really nothing special a brain say “Ciao! I’m bored and i dont want to learn that crap – take care” and you’re left with problem because instead of absorbing information quickly you feel sleepy. I guess this shall be introduction to mind mapping – a new way of taking notes. If you don’t know it and can not wait till next post then remember good… google is your friend!
