How to learn history fast

February 9, 2010

Hi! If it is about fast learning history is one of the best subject for a proper use of this skill (yeah, it’s skill – you can learn it!). With so much dates, facts and stories to remember it creates an amazing amount of knowledge. It is also great because a lot of memorization techniques use associating different “images” into a story. If you ask where you can use speed reading, mnemonic techniques and fast learning then i will say “go and learn about some ancient wars!”. In a matter of a fact I write these post because my girlfriend found something really great today. It is a funny comics that have two very important characteristic of effective learning. What they are?

  • imaginative description, probably a graphical representation (like short comics)
  • the more funny and absurd story you create the better you will remember it

Of Course there’s loads of more techniques and things that will help you to remember faster and better! Anyway you can download it here – use save as (with your right mouse button) as it’s very big gif file (around 1Mb) or open it in new window and give some time to fully load. The only things that could be done to improve this great piece of work is to add keywords for certain stages and color it! It is an example but you can use it effectively to learn about history of second war and what happend after – there’s no obstacles to add something from you. I just would like to say Thank you to the author whoever he is (there’s signature) – great work!
